Our beloved Sheila passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident on August 1, 2008.
In honor of Sheila's great love for people without regard to race and appearance and her love for learning and self-improvement, we have created this non-profit fund under the trust of the Georgia Tech Foundation. Our wish is to provide financial aid to the neediest international students from the third world countries with excellent academic standing and with the highest potential for positive impact to their environment. This is how our angel Sheila can give back to the world that she loved so much, FOREVER.
Once the gifts and donations reach a $25,000 level, the GA Tech foundation will treat the fund as an endowment. An endowment will perpetuate indefinitely and all the interests earned by the fund will become available in July to be used towards financial aid per the endowment agreement.
Following Sheila's philosophy towards life, the potential recipients of this gift can be any Georgia Tech students of any nationality, race or sex. The exact candidate selection requirements and process will be decided before the end of 2008 in the form of an endowment agreement- which will be published on this site. The management of the fund will be under the supervision of the Board of Trustee of the GA Tech foundation.
We plan to regularly publish reports on total contributions made to the fund and the amount disbursed to students in form of aid. The amount of individual gifts will remain confidential and as such, will not be disclosed
We hope that you will join us in this journey, so that our angel Sheila can continue to manifest her love on this earth forever: "helping needy students achieve academic excellence so that they are fully equipped to give back to our beautiful world".
We love you always,
Kafa and Azin Eshraghi (Sheila's parents)
